Later, he worked at Grupo Protexa, where he was Legal Manager <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">International (1980-1983) and Corporate Legal Director (1983-1991).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He was Senator of the Republic, president of the Foreign Relations Commission (2000- <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2006), presiding over the delegations of the Mexican Congress before the Parliament of the Union<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">European Union, the Council of Europe and the World Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU). He was elected and served as a member of the Commission on Human Rights of Parliamentarians (2004- <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2006), in Geneva, Switzerland.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mayor of San Pedro Garza Garc\u00eda, NL, for two terms (1994-1997 and 2006-2009).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He is an active member of various charitable, educational, social and civic associations, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">presiding over some of them.
